Distance makes planning fun!...not

So..earlier today talking with my fiance over the phone about  how we will be meeting with vendors especially venues and photographers when I am not even there with him in the same state. My fiance is stepping up and trying to let me leave everything in his hands to meet up with the vendors. He also suggested to  record meeting on camera for me to feel that I was there and to hear everything they were offering and seeing the banquet or see the photographers work and such. I am not having any problem with that obviously..except that its hard for me to let others do very important things because I am a too picky person and a perfectionist..and yes not proud of it,HOWEVER, I am trusting my fiance to do this job and bring everything with him for us to decide when he comes and visit this fall.  After all , trust is a huge thing in marriage and this is one of the steps that needs it from many that we will have to rely on each other. So this is first step to take.

We are waiting for this fall so we can have things talked over with my parents and especially my dad who has the big wallet here and to make a decision based on everyone thoughts about the venue and the photographer. We are planning to have the big things booked hopefully before the year mark from the wedding , that way we wont be stressing over it and we can start actually the real planning process by working on our projects..which we have many of them.

Ceremony Decor

Our ceremony is going to be held at this beautiful church in IL and been thinking of how we are going
to make the ceremony have a romantic atmosphere.

I will be using flowers in purple shade (haven't decided on what type of flowers)more likely same type of flower in the pic. Also I will have long soft bow ribbon going all the way down the pews either in ivory or grays

I want to use a lot of candles for the ceremony decor , so I found this pic on the web and I loved the idea of those purple glass pillars. I think I will be using a lot of these on each side of the altar. I also might add some beaded pillars to give some sparkle with the candle light. I have thought about what is going to  highlight our altar and thought to use something like the pic below. Long branches and add some roses or flowers to it and put it behind us to highlight the area where we will be standing OR I might use those to put in the built in wall section above us. I think it would give a great decor to that space.

AA bride!

Alfred Angelo Bride!
June 20th , 2010 was a Sunday and not any Sunday, but it was also fathers day and the day that I ordered my wedding dress , veil and bought my headpiece! I decided to start shopping for my gown this year so I can have it ready to take with me next summer when I move. I wanted to have this experience with my family before I leave to be with my fiance. The dress search was fun and different. It was a bit stressful as well with all the places I had to go to and not finding  something that I liked 100%. Most of the dresses were very beautiful but weren't me. I tried the Alfred Angelo gown once at a small bridal store and I saw my self walking down the aisle in it. I somehow got a weird feeling about it when I saw myself in the mirror. It made me smile and also made me feel beautiful. Looking my self in the mirror with the veil on as well made me realize that  it could be "the dress". I knew my fiance would love it because of how simple and elegant it is and I knew that it was the dress I wanted him to see me in.
I ended up ordering the dress after visiting the Alfred Angelo signature store and got a better deal on it because of the big sale they had going on that day (made my dad happy since he was paying for it). I also got to receive a free Starbucks gift card and a blue tote that is seen in the pic, I felt special and treated like a bride!

Swatch cards for free :)
I've got to go to pick up my veil after 2 or 3 weeks from ordering my veil and I also had a coupon for free fabric swatches for bridesmaids dresses and such. Its going to help me with my planning process especially when it comes to colors and fabrics while using to decorate and also for attire. I also got another free Starbucks card that day and they were very nice and helpful as always.

The Bride & Groom

Welcome to K&K Wedding Blog.
This Blog is going to be about our journey to our wedding day and our planning
Wedding Ideas and plans will be posted here to help us gather our ideas.

My idea of creating this blog is to have this beautiful memory in the future and to help through the process of wedding planning, also to share some ideas and receive tips.

However, before all that..I would like to introduce my self and my fiance. I am Kat short for Kathia and my fiance's name is Kyle. We have been together for 2 years and known each other for more than 4 years so far. We are in a long distance relationship (yay for that..not really). Its been a very bumpy road trying to keep this relationship alive and to make it work, but we are trying very hard until this day and we plan to end this distance this time next summer, to end it forever!

The Proposal:

My fiance proposed to me the day after Christmas , Dec 26th 2009. We were driving to get some Starbucks coffee late that night at a strip mall kind of place near where I live. We took our drinks outside where it was very cold that night and had few sips and enjoyed hanging out for few minutes until he asked me to put my drink down and dance with him under the stars. There was Christmas lights and a big Christmas tree behind us that was lit and Christmas music playing in the background and the place was very quiet and empty..since it was late that night when stores where all closed. My fiance pulls away from me and then I see him kneeling down on one knee and pulls out a brown wooden box and opens it to see the most beautiful elegant ring as I couldn't hold the tears as they went down and I was crying hard and shaking for a while as he put the ring on my finger and tried to calm me down while he was crying a bit too. It was a magical moment that I can never forget about..ever.
